Call for Participation

Symposium on Mathematics Education Reform (SMER-2006, Beijing, China)

Time: March 20 – March 22, 2006
Location: Capital Normal University, Beijing, CHINA

The symposium has special sessions for invited presentations delivered by internationally known researchers and educators from China, USA and Russia.  

The program committee is also organizing panel discussions and contributed paper sessions. It warmly welcomes talks contributed by intelligent researchers in the area and inspirational educators with working experience!
The program committee encourages students (both undergraduate and graduate from all majors) as part of the scientific program and the panel discussions.

This year the symposium focuses on calculus reform, but also welcomes other topics of mathematics education reform in general. Topics includes but not limited to:
1. Current developments in mathematics education reform;

2. Connection of the calculus reform to education in other disciplines;
3. Relevance of the calculus reforms to high school calculus teacher training;
4. Perspectives to graduate education in mathematics and teacher training;
5. Case study and novel practice in curriculum, textbooks;
6. Other related topics in mathematics education.
