The Second International Conference on Mesoscopic Methods in Engineering and Science (ICMMES) will take place in July 26-29, 2005 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU), Hong Kong, China. The ICMMES-2005 will be preceded by a one-day short course given by several experts in the field on July 25, 2005.

The focus of the Conference series is mesoscopic / kinetic methods (e.g. LBE, DVM, GKS, and SPH) for computational mechanics in its broadest sense.The conference will focus on computational methods for challenging engineering problems based on mesoscopic methods, including (but not limited to) the lattice Boltzmann equation (LBE), lattice-gas cellular automata (LGCA), discrete velocity models (DVM), gas-kinetic schemes (GKS), dissipative particle dynamics (DPD), and smooth-particle hydrodynamics (SPH).

The papers submitted to ICMMES-05 will be considered for publication in International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics (IJCFD) and International Journal of Modern Physics C (IJMPC). All the papers will be subject to review processes set by these Journals.
