Canada-China Workshop on Industrial Mathematics
May 23- 26, 2005
Lam Woo Conference Center, Hong Kong Baptist University

Objectives:
Industrial mathematics has been found extremely useful in assisting the development of a country's economy. In Canada, the Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS) has gained rich experience in providing mathematical models, software tools, and highly-qualified personnel to assist Canadian firms in key sectors of the Canadian economy. In recent years, the importance of industrial mathematics has been realized by the Chinese mathematicians, and many Chinese mathematicians began collobarations with Canadian colleagues in this direction. The aim of the workshop is to bring together mathematicians, applied scientists and engineers working in the field of industrial mathematics to provide a forum for the participants to meet and exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere.
