2014复杂生物系统建模与计算国际会议将于2014年5月26-29日
在南开大学陈省身数学研究所举行
2014 International Conference on Modeling of Complex Biological systems May 26-29, 2014, Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University, Tianjin, China
The conference theme focuses on studying complex biological systems using theoretical, computational and experimental methods. Researchers from theoretical, computational, and experimental research areas are invited to participate in this conference to focus on
(i). mechano-chemical modeling of cellular systems, including single cell behavior,
collective cellular behavior, and the behavior of cell ensembles,
(ii). ion transport phenomena across the membrane,
(iii). protein and biopolymer dynamics as well as signaling network,
(iv). new experimental findings involving the complex biological systems
(v) various novel computational methods for studying the complex biologicalsystems. These are cutting-edge research in biological sciences, biophysical modeling and simulation.
The cell as the fundamental unit in any biological systems is a complex biological system itself. Modeling its behavior is the state-of-the-art in biological, physical, engineering, medical, and even societal research. Applying quantitative tools to investigate its behavior is crucial in decipher its fascinating behavior in its response to various environmental cues.
Given its complexity, it only makes sense to study the complex systems through interdisciplinary interaction. This international conference aims at bringing frontier researchers from multiple disciplines such as applied mathematics, computational community, physical modeling and experimental community to gather to exchange their research findings and then forge future collaborations to attack the complex problems.
The conference will be held at the S S Chern Institute of Mathematics in Nankai University,
Tianjin, P. R. China.
