Abstract
Summer Research and Working Group on
Large Scale Computations for Fluid Dynamics
Institute of Computational Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences
May 20 -- Augsut 20, 2005
Organizers:
Weinan E (Princeton), Chi-Wang Shu (Brown & CAS), Jie Shen (Purdue), and Tao Tang (HKBU & CAS)
The first activity of the summer research group will be held from May 23 to May 27, 2005, with two main speakers:
Prof Chun Liu, Penn State University
Prof Jie Shen, Purdue University
During the week of May 23-27, the two speakers will deliver a few lectures in the morning (total 5-6 hours) on the modeling and computation of complex fluids using phase-field model. They will try to lay out a few problems to work with. They will also try to combine different expertises to make a group effort.
Since this is a small working group focusing on a few targeted problems, we will limit the group members to be not more than 12. Interesting researchers can contact Prof YUAN Li at lyuan@lsec.cc.ac.cn
