Shimura varieties are fundamental objects in modern mathematics and have been studied from various points of view such as arithmetic geometry, representation theory, differential geometry, topology etc. They have played a fundamental role in the Langlands program. The aim of the summer school is to bring together world leading experts to give an introduction to various aspects of Shimura varieties and a survey of recent developments.
